Barbara Inmann, the new Managing Director of Climate Lab, has been part of its journey since day one. At the anniversary event on September 30, 2025, she described it as “a place of hope for people who want to take action.”

Climate Lab is much more than an innovation hub in Vienna’s Spittelau district. Across more than 1,000 m², start-ups, NGOs, companies, and research institutions from all over Europe collaborate on solutions in energy, mobility, housing, and circular economy. Founded by the Climate and Energy Fund, Wien Energie, Climate-KIC, and Impact Hub, the Lab pursues the ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2040.

The program kicked off at 4:00 p.m. with exclusive tours of the Hundertwasser exhibition “Julius von Bismarck – Normal Disaster.” Afterwards, an inspiring Project Walk offered insights into more than 50 Climate Lab projects.

Marion from the Academy for Climate Action was once again part of the Living Library, standing by as a “living book” for short conversations – a great chance for visitors to ask questions and gather ideas for their own initiatives.

The newly formed Climate Lab Band brought the party vibe before Barbara Inmann’s keynote highlighted the role of art in driving climate action. The afternoon wrapped up with a panel discussion on art & climate protection and a networking reception that combined celebration with a forward-looking perspective.

A wonderful anniversary – and a powerful reminder of how strong this community remains, even against icy headwinds!
