The Hertie School is located just a stone’s throw from the heart of Germany’s political scene. It is one of the few German-speaking universities that specialises in governance, public affairs and future societal issues.

In the summer term of 2026, climate activist-turned-entrepreneur Johannes Naimer-Stach joined the teaching staff. In collaboration with Monika Weber-Fahr, he is leading the intensive courses ‘Social Innovation: Business Proposals for a Climate Activist‘. Weber-Fahr is a Hertie School lecturer who advises on issues including sustainable development.

Master’s students in Public Policy, International Affairs and Data Science for Public Policy will demonstrate their potential by engaging creatively with the topic and delivering impressive initial presentations. Their ideas will undoubtedly take the Climate Protection Academy to a new level.

Work will continue in April. This will enable the development of a concrete business plan based on the ideas generated so far as part of the multi-stage innovation process.
